PLM Solution Architect (German Language Skills Required)

We are seeking an experienced PLM Solution Architect with strong German language capabilities to lead enterprise-level Product Lifecycle Management initiatives for one of our biggest-scale customers in the automotive sector. This role requires a strategic thinker who can bridge technical architecture with business requirements while effectively communicating with German-speaking stakeholders across the organization who will have the opportunity to work on strategic PLM initiatives for a global organization being the key-decision makers.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Implementation

Lead end-to-end PLM solution architecture design, development, and implementation

Define and maintain PLM architecture standards, best practices, and technology roadmap

Conduct solution design sessions, architecture reviews, and technical assessments

Ensure system scalability, data governance, and regulatory compliance

Support deployment activities, system migrations, and platform upgrades

Stakeholder Engagement

Engage directly with German-speaking business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and refine requirements

Facilitate workshops and design sessions in the German language

Translate business needs into technical solutions and architecture blueprints

Present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

System Integration

Drive integration strategies with enterprise systems, including: ERP Systems: SAP; CAD Tools: Siemens NX, CATIA, and other design platforms; PLM Platforms: Teamcenter, Windchill, or similar

Design and implement API-based integrations across the enterprise ecosystem

Ensure seamless data flow between PLM and other business-critical systems

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education & Experience

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field

8–12+ years of progressive experience in the PLM domain and solution architecture

Technical Expertise

Deep expertise in at least one major PLM platform: Siemens Teamcenter; PTC Windchill or an equivalent enterprise PLM solution

Proven track record in solution architecture and enterprise system integration

Strong understanding of core PLM concepts: Bill of Materials (BOM) management, Engineering Change Management (ECM/ECO), Product Data Management (PDM), Configuration management, Workflow and lifecycle management

Experience with APIs, web services, and integration technologies

Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies

Language Requirements

German: B1/B2 level (CEFR) – mandatory

Ability to conduct business meetings and technical discussions

Comfortable facilitating workshops and presenting in German

English: Fluent (written and spoken) for international collaboration

Nice to Have

Industry & Domain Knowledge

Experience in the automotive or manufacturing industries

Understanding of industry-specific compliance and standards (e.g., IATF 16949, ISO 9001)

Emerging Technologies

Knowledge of cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS)

Familiarity with digital thread and digital twin concepts

Experience with IoT, Industry 4.0, or smart manufacturing initiatives

Understanding of Agile/DevOps methodologies in the PLM context
