Role Overview:
A competition is open for the award of 1 Research Grant for a Bachelor's Degree holder within the scope of the REBLOCK project, funded by PT2030-SIID. The position is intended for R&D activities by students enrolled in an integrated master's degree, a master's degree, or a doctorate, or by graduates/masters enrolled in non-degree courses, with the aim of consolidating scientific training through research work.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct R&D activities in the field of Civil Engineering.
- Contribute to the development of an innovative modular construction system based on R-PP composites reinforced with mineral fillers and plant fibers.
- Work towards validating the system by European standards and preparing it for CE marking.
- Focus on the systemic integration of DfMA functional blocks, industrially manufactured by injection molding, which are reusable and compliant with regulatory standards.
- Execute the activity plan timely and completely.
- Observe the rules and guidelines of the host institution.
- Maintain regular attendance.

Requirements and Qualifications:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or related fields.
- Preference is given to candidates with knowledge of:
(a) building materials and systems;
(b) testing methodologies;
(c) life-cycle assessment.
- Applicants of non-Portuguese nationality must present a residence permit, permanent residence certificate, or long-term resident status valid on the scholarship start date (or a declaration of honor submitted during the contracting phase).
- Proof of enrollment and registration in the relevant study cycle or course.

What They Offer:
- Monthly maintenance allowance: €1,090.98, paid monthly by bank transfer.
- Duration: 12 months, starting 01/09/2026. The contract may be renewed until 31/08/2028.
- Workplace: Construction Materials Laboratory of the Higher Institute of Engineering, under the scientific guidance of Prof. Maria de Fátima Silva Marques Tavares Farinha.
- Scientific training and research experience within an EU-funded project.
