Together, we will explore the properties and reactivity of nanographene ฯ-radicals. We are a diverse, international and friendly team exploring the magical world of graphene-based materials and learning how to tailor their properties and function through molecular design. Our projects are the interface of organic synthesis, materials science and supramolecular chemistry.
Responsibilities
Explore the properties and reactivity of nanographene ฯ-radicals. Tailor properties and function of graphene-based materials through molecular design. Conduct research at the interface of organic synthesis, materials science and supramolecular chemistry.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education: Completed (or soon to be completed) degree in chemistry (MSc or equivalent).
Academic Record: Outstanding track record (excellent grades, graduation with honors, summa cum laude, or equivalent, academic awards at the university level).
Technical Skills:
- Experience in a synthetic organic laboratory, including microscale work.
- Work under air-free and moisture-free conditions.
- Experience with spectroscopic techniques (NMR, UV/Vis, etc.).
- Experience in designing and planning complex synthetic sequences.
Language: Excellent English language skills (written and oral).
Personal Attributes: Creative and ambitious candidate with a strong passion for chemistry and research. Team player who helps and motivates others. Humble and friendly personality with a sense of humor. Ability to critically evaluate obtained scientific results.
Additional: Experience with studying abroad (e.g. Erasmus, etc.) is welcome.
