Medical degree or natural science/pharmacy degree with PhD or equivalent long-term experience, multiple years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry in a comparable position, experience in clinical research and/or Medical Affairs & Education, preferably with a focus on Neurology, Cardiology, or Heart Failure, proven experience in Product Lifecycle Management and successful Launch Management, demonstrated success in planning or supporting company-initiated and investigator-initiated studies (RCT, RWE, ESR/IIT) and comprehensive understanding of conception requirements, leadership experience and ideally experience in steering cross-functional teams (Marketing, Market Access...), ability to quickly and independently integrate into new indications and matters as well as strategic thinking and implementation of medical strategies, high intrinsic motivation and proactive contribution of own ideas combined with a pronounced pioneer spirit, pronounced strategic thinking ability, communication skills, negotiation skills and assertiveness, very good German and English language skills and business knowledge.

Responsibilities

Content and strategic, as well as personnel and budget responsibility for all medical activities in the field of Amyloidosis, leadership, goal definition, motivation and development of scientific/medical employees, independent planning and implementation of an integrated and coordinated medical strategy as well as innovative medical activity plans (publications, advisory board, medical education, etc.) with members of the medical subteam - in particular with the MSLMs and in coordination with the x-functional team in the indication area, ensuring synergies within Medical Affairs CVRM and Amyloidosis (national and international) and cross-functional, responsibility for the medical content of Market Access activities, dossiers and statements as well as all materials with potential external effect in the indication area, ensuring the communication of medical-scientific information in the context of external inquiries, MSL interactions and non-promotional medical education, responsibility for the implementation of all Corporate Governance and Compliance regulations for all medical-scientific activities in the indication area including scientific-medical approvals, responsibility for the medical-scientific evaluation of new therapeutic approaches and the pipeline as well as classification in current treatment schemes, support of the implementation and conduct of AZ-sponsored studies in cooperation with Clinical Operations, building and expanding reliable contacts to external experts, research institutes and associations in the context of medical-scientific questions and projects, responsibility for the positive development of the external scientific perception of AstraZeneca in the indication area.
