Responsibilities
Performs all radiographic examinations according to established protocols, maintains high degree of accuracy in radiographic positioning and exposure technique, maintains knowledge and awareness of radiation protection and safety, prepares for and assists the radiologist with intricate radiographic examinations, prepares and administers contrast media, uses consistent and appropriate techniques to gather relevant information, assesses patient to determine and develop an action plan, performs pre and post exam patient education, produces images at patients' bedside, ER, and surgery, demonstrates good radiation safety practices, attends and participates in department staff meetings and in-services, takes an active role in gaining and maintaining proficiency in hospital and radiology equipment and information systems, instructs Radiologic Technology students, presents a positive image of the hospital and department, assists in quality improvement programs, maintains appropriate credentials and certifications
