Define target costs and cost architectures for new products and subsystems; maintain cost models for complete products including components, tooling, and logistics; create consistent cost taxonomy and modeling methodology; track costs across the product lifecycle and identify optimization opportunities; engage early in product architecture to influence cost before designs are frozen; lead value-engineering workshops to identify cost and quality trade-offs; partner with Engineering and NPI teams to ensure cost is considered at all milestones; build scalable templates, databases, and governance for product cost engineering; present cost analyses and recommendations to senior leadership; mentor peers on cost drivers and supplier economics.
