Associate Researcher -Internship for Student Pursuing PhD

As an Associate Researcher, you are expected to demonstrate curiosity, self-motivation and enthusiasm for working at the intersection of theory and application. You are encouraged to explore bold ideas, contribute to meaningful research, and take ownership of your work while learning advanced research methodologies. Our team operates in two main directions:

  • Applying AI to the design and optimization of semiconductors and communication systems
  • Conducting fundamental research that supports both our applications and the broader scientific community

Current areas of interest include large language models (LLMs), optimization methods for deep learning, reinforcement learning (RL), and generative models.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support research projects by conducting experiments and collecting data
  • Perform literature reviews to inform ongoing research
  • Assist senior team members with data analysis and documentation
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of algorithms as part of team projects
  • Collaborate with researchers and engineers to explore and evaluate new ideas
  • Assist in preparing publications and technical reports
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI and related fields

Qualification & skills

Required

  • Enrolment in a PhD program in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field
  • Demonstrated interest in research and a background in machine learning or a related area
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or similar
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Effective communication skills and ability to present complex ideas clearly

Preferred

  • Experience in optimization, reinforcement learning, and/or large language models (LLMs)
  • Familiarity with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, JAX)
  • Previous research publications or submitted papers
