## About the role We are looking for a passionate and motivated product engineer who partners with us to build intuitive, scalable, and delightful user experiences for teachers, students, and parents. As a product Engineer, you will contribute to designing, developing, and deploying high-quality product. You will collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, designers, educators, and gain exposure to real-world usage in schools. This role offers hands-on ownership, continuous technical growth and product understanding in a fast-growing SaaS environment. ## What you'll achieve in your first 3 months - Understand the codebase, backend architecture, and core product workflows - Build strong fundamentals in PostgreSQL, GraphQL, and basic query writing - Start contributing to feature development, production fixes, and basic query optimization ## What you'll achieve in your first 6 months - Independently deliver major backend features by writing clean, modular, and optimized code - Become comfortable with query optimization, and writing scripts for analytics and database migrations - Participate in code reviews and collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, QA, and Product teams ## What you'll achieve in your first 12 months - Own backend modules end-to-end, coordinating closely with Product and Support teams through scoping, design reviews, development, release, and post-release support - Get the opportunity to work on backend infrastructure projects or contribute to other backend services - Contribute to onboarding, technical knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement of engineering processes ## Must have Skills - Frameworks & Technologies - Node.js, Express & GraphQL, PostgreSQL - Tools & Platforms - Git, Knex, GitHub Copilot or other AI-assisted development tools - Experience with scripting and data analysis tasks - Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn - Ability to write maintainable, readable, and scalable code ## Good to have - Familiarity with the AWS ecosystem (Lambda, SQS, CloudWatch, API Gateway, etc.) - Experience with background jobs, queues, and workers - Exposure to additional data stores such as Redis or ClickHouse or Elastic Search - Basic understanding of React and Apollo Client - Product mindset with empathy for end users and strong collaboration skills - Past working experience in SaaS or product based companies ## Is this someone that looks like you? - Education: B.E/B.Tech degree - Experience: 1 to 3 years of relevant working experience (SaaS preferred) - Soft skills: Having a bias towards action, a good sense of design, empathy, and good communication skills ## About the company We deeply value building the right culture at Toddle, and these are a few things that we look for in each hire – Coach-ability, Curiosity, Ownership, Hustle and Humility
