Staff Software Engineer

## About the role We are looking for an experienced Staff Software Engineer to set technical direction, solve complex engineering challenges, and build scalable platform services that power mission-critical applications used by enterprise customers at scale. This is a highly impactful individual contributor role focused on architecture, platform engineering, and solving complex technical challenges across multiple product and engineering teams. ## Responsibilities - Lead the development of foundational technology capabilities that support multiple products and teams. - Design and build scalable backend systems and distributed applications. - Drive architectural decisions and establish engineering best practices. - Lead technical design reviews and contribute to long-term platform strategy. - Build highly reliable, scalable, and maintainable systems. - Develop integration frameworks and services connecting multiple systems and data sources. - Partner with engineers across teams to improve platform performance, reliability, and developer productivity. - Mentor senior engineers and raise the technical bar through code reviews and technical guidance. - Troubleshoot and solve complex scalability, performance, and correctness challenges. - Work closely with product and engineering leadership on high-impact initiatives. - Remain hands-on and contribute to the most challenging technical projects. ## Requirements - 8+ years of software engineering experience. - Strong expertise in Python and backend development. - Deep experience with distributed systems and scalable platform architecture. - Proven track record designing systems used by multiple teams or products. - Strong system design, data modeling, and software architecture skills. - Experience operating production systems at scale. - Ability to influence technical direction across teams. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills. ## Preferred Qualifications - Experience building AI-powered applications or platforms. - Experience with cloud-native architectures and modern infrastructure. - Experience with large-scale data platforms and integrations. - Prior Staff or Principal Engineer experience. - Experience at high-growth startups or top-tier engineering organizations is strongly preferred. - Demonstrated track record of delivering large-scale, business-critical systems.
