## About the role You'll be working on Order Agent, Pepper's AI product that turns inbound orders from voicemails, texts, emails, photos, and PDFs into clean digital orders inside the Pepper platform. It's one of the most active and highest-leverage surfaces in the company, and the work spans agentic systems, voice and document AI, and the core ordering experience our customers use every day. ## Responsibilities - Build the AI pipelines behind Order Agent: voice agents that take phone orders from restaurants, document and image understanding for emailed and texted orders, and catalog and SKU matching against each customer's order history - Ship features end to end across our web and mobile apps, partnered closely with product, design, and ops - Own meaningful parts of the technical architecture and help set the bar for code quality across the team - Spend real time with the order desks and sales reps who use Order Agent every day, and use what you learn to shape what we build next ## Requirements - 5+ years building production software at a fast-growing startup or tech company - Solid full stack experience — frontend with React, React Native, or Next.js (TypeScript), and production backend web services. We use Python, but we welcome strong engineers coming from other languages. - Real experience building with AI — agentic workflows, LLMs in production, or serious leverage from tools like Claude Code - You break down ambiguous business problems and ship quickly ## Nice to Have - Mobile app development experience ## Why This Role You'll build the engineering judgment that defines the next generation of engineers — shipping AI products that real businesses run on.
