Lead Engineer - Circular Retail Marketplace

## Remote | Full-Time | Equity + Prenegotiated Salary ## About the Role Do Not Wish is reimagining the future of retail at the intersection of sustainability, culture, and technology. We are building a curated circular retail marketplace designed for next-gen consumers who value intentionality, affordability, and innovation. Our technical approach blends commerce, climate impact, and applied AI. As we prepare to scale, we're seeking technical/engineering leads to join us at this pivotal early stage in our technology. ## Responsibilities - Work closely with the founding team on product strategy, product roadmap and go-to-market. - Architect, build, and manage our core platforms. - Oversee technical roadmap and future infrastructure ## Requirements - Strong full-stack engineering experience. - Experience building commerce, marketplace, SaaS, or platform-based products - Ability to build scalable product infrastructure. - Expert level familiarity with Next.js, Node.js, Supabase/Postgres, APIs, authentication, and cloud deployment. - Strong understanding of partner access, product intake, inventory flow, order logic, payments, fulfillment, and admin workflows. - Ability to evaluate and integrate third-party tools without being dependent on them. - Early-stage startup mindset: resourceful, practical, fast-moving, and ownership-driven - Interest in circular commerce, sustainability, premium retail, consumer marketplaces, and the future of retail. ## What We Offer Compensation Note: Equity consideration is available from the start, with salary pre-negotiated for activation after product and revenue milestones, or funding. ## Role Context This is an opportunity to join DNW at the foundation stage, while our technical direction, product architecture, and marketplace infrastructure are still being meaningfully shaped. The ideal person for this role will not simply be delegated technical tasks. They will help define, build, and maintain the core system DNW grows from.
