Senior Cloud Engineer (Google Cloud Platform)

## About the Role We are looking for a highly skilled Cloud Engineer with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to design, build, and optimize scalable cloud-native architectures. The ideal candidate has strong experience with infrastructure automation, CI/CD, container orchestration, and cost-efficient cloud solutions. You'll work on modern cloud environments, helping customers architect secure, resilient, and high-performing platforms. ## What You'll Do ### Cloud Architecture & Engineering - Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient solutions on GCP. - Select and optimize compute services including: - Compute Engine - Cloud Run - App Engine (Standard/Flexible) - Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) - Managed Instance Groups (MIGs) - Architect solutions for storage, networking, AI/ML workloads, and GPU-based applications. - Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines following DevOps best practices. ### Infrastructure & Automation - Develop infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices. - Automate deployments, scaling, and configuration management. - Implement monitoring, performance optimization, and operational best practices. ### Data & ETL - Work with BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, and Composer. - Build and optimize ETL pipelines. - Improve BigQuery and Cloud Logging cost efficiency through partitioning, retention policies, and best practices. ### Cloud-Native Platforms - Design architectures using Cloud Run, App Engine, GKE, and Managed Instance Groups. - Troubleshoot autoscaling, latency, and performance issues. - Implement messaging systems using Pub/Sub and dead-letter queues. - Optimize Cloud Run performance and cold-start behavior. ### Security & Governance - Configure organizations, folders, IAM policies, and landing zones. - Apply security and governance best practices. - Support environments requiring compliance standards such as FedRAMP and Assured Workloads. ## Requirements ### Must-Have - 5+ years of cloud engineering experience. - Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP). - Comfortable navigating the GCP Console and discussing core GCP services. - Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools. - Strong programming skills in Python, Go, Java, TypeScript, or similar languages. - Experience building CI/CD pipelines and implementing DevOps practices. ### Hands-on experience with - Compute Engine - Cloud Run - App Engine - GKE - Managed Instance Groups - Experience with BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, and Composer. - Understanding of Cloud SQL and AlloyDB use cases. - Ability to troubleshoot scaling, latency, and architecture issues. - Experience with cloud cost optimization. ## Nice to Have - Experience with AI/ML workloads and GPU-enabled environments. - Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration. - Knowledge of FedRAMP, Assured Workloads, or regulated cloud environments. - Experience with messaging systems and event-driven architectures. ## Why Join Us? - Work on cutting-edge Google Cloud projects. - Collaborate with experienced engineers and architects. - Solve complex challenges involving scalability, automation, and cloud optimization. - Opportunity to work with AI/ML and modern cloud-native technologies.
