Senior Backend Engineer

## About the role Loxala is building the next generation of freelancing and professional networking. We are looking for a skilled Backend Engineer to help architect, build, and scale our platform as we prepare for significant growth. ## What You'll Do - Design and develop scalable backend services using Python and FastAPI. - Build RESTful APIs and microservices that support millions of future users. - Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases. - Integrate third-party services including payment gateways, email systems, analytics, and AI tools. - Implement authentication, authorization, and security best practices. - Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams to deliver high-quality features. - Improve system performance, monitoring, reliability, and scalability. - Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making. - Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code. ## Requirements - 5+ years of backend development experience. - Strong experience with Python and FastAPI. - Experience with PostgreSQL database design and optimization. - Experience building REST APIs and distributed systems. - Understanding of Docker and containerized deployments. - Familiarity with AWS cloud services. - Knowledge of security best practices, authentication, and authorization. - Experience working in startup environments is a plus. - Strong problem-solving and communication skills. ## Nice to Have - Experience with Redis and caching systems. - Experience with CI/CD pipelines. - Experience with AI integrations and LLM-powered applications. - Experience building large-scale marketplace or SaaS platforms.
