## About the Role
Cher® is building Orava™, a modern mortgage technology platform that combines CRM, LOS, and POS functionality into a single solution for mortgage professionals.
Our MVP is nearing completion, and we're looking for a Principal Software Engineer to help lead the final launch and shape the future of the platform.
We are seeking individuals who are excited about long-term ownership, meaningful impact, and helping launch a category-defining mortgage technology platform.
## What You'll Do
- Help launch Orava MVP
- Build and improve CRM, LOS, and POS functionality
- Design scalable architecture and infrastructure
- Improve borrower and loan officer workflows
- Work directly with leadership and product stakeholders
- Participate in technical and product decisions
- Help define the long-term engineering roadmap
## Required
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong full-stack development experience
- Experience building SaaS/AI products
- Strong understanding of APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, and system design
- Ability to thrive in an early-stage startup environment
## Highly Preferred
- Mortgage technology experience
- Experience with 1003 applications
- LOS or POS experience
- Lending, banking, fintech, or compliance-heavy software experience
## Compensation
This position is currently compensated through equity ownership in Cher®.
- Equity: 0.50%–1.00%
As Cher and Orava (product of Cher) continue to grow, the company intends to transition key contributors into compensated roles as revenue and business performance support expansion. Timing and compensation structure will depend on company growth, product adoption, and available resources.
Equity grants will be determined based on experience, commitment level, and relevant mortgage technology expertise and are subject to standard vesting schedules.
