## About the role Akadenia is looking for a Full Stack Engineer who is equally comfortable shaping a React interface, designing a GraphQL schema, and deploying services to AWS. You'll own features end to end — from the database to the screen — on a small, fast-moving team where what you ship reaches users in days, not quarters. We build with modern AI coding tools as a core part of how we work, not as a novelty. If you already lean on assistants like Claude, Cursor, or ChatGPT to move faster and write better code, you'll feel at home here. ## Responsibilities - Build and maintain full stack features across our React front end and Node.js/TypeScript backend. - Design and evolve APIs in both GraphQL and REST, balancing developer experience with performance. - Deploy, monitor, and scale services on AWS (compute, storage, queues, and managed databases). - Collaborate with product and design to turn rough ideas into shipped, well-tested software. - Own quality end to end: write meaningful tests, review pull requests, and keep an eye on observability and reliability in production. - Use AI coding tools thoughtfully — to prototype, refactor, and accelerate — while keeping a high bar for correctness and maintainability. ## Tech stack - **Languages**: TypeScript (front and back), with strong typing throughout - **Frontend**: React, modern hooks, component-driven UI - **Backend**: Node.js, GraphQL and REST APIs - **Infrastructure**: AWS (e.g. Lambda, ECS, S3, RDS/DynamoDB, SQS/SNS — depending on the service) - **Tooling**: AI-assisted development with Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, or similar ## Requirements - Several years of professional full stack experience shipping production software. - Strong command of TypeScript across the stack, plus solid React fundamentals. - Experience building back-end services in Node.js and designing APIs with both GraphQL and REST. - Hands-on experience deploying and operating applications on AWS. - A working knowledge of AI coding tools and good judgment about when to trust, verify, and rewrite their output. - A pragmatic approach to testing, code review, and shipping — you care about quality without gold-plating. - Clear written communication and the ability to work autonomously in a small team. ## Nice to have - Experience with infrastructure-as-code (CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation). - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker). - Exposure to performance tuning, caching, or event-driven architectures. - A track record of mentoring or raising the engineering bar on a team. ## What we offer - A team that treats AI tooling as a real productivity multiplier and invests in the tools you need. - Direct ownership and short paths from idea to production. ## About the company Akadenia is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and do not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, religion, or any other protected status.
