## About the role We sell hardware. We build practice. Peak Saunas builds the next generation of infrared therapy — precision-engineered for people who expect more from their recovery, their rituals, and their homes. We're a profitable, founder-owned brand, and we're not raising money to grow. Most companies sell a sauna and disappear. We sell what happens after the delivery truck leaves: a guided practice, a real method, and a community of people doing the work together. The product is the entry point. The method is what changes a life — and software is increasingly how we deliver it. This is the first technical hire at Peak, and it's a builder's seat, not a manager's. You'll own our software end to end — the product experience, the data behind it, and how it connects to the saunas themselves. You'll do it the way we do everything: one strong person with the right leverage, using modern tools to do the work of a team. We're hiring a senior full-stack developer rather than a Head of Technology on purpose. We'd rather back someone who can build what we need now and grow into leading the function than overpay for a title before we've seen the work. The path to that leadership role is real and concrete. You'll partner directly with the founder on strategy — there's no layer in between, and there won't be one for a while. We'll walk you through exactly what you'd be building once we're talking. The full picture is something we share with candidates, not the internet. ## Who you are You'll need: - Senior full-stack experience shipping production software end to end — you've owned an app from data model to deployed product, not just a slice of one. - Comfort being the most senior engineer in the room: making the architecture calls and being accountable for them. - A modern, AI-native way of working — you use the best tools available to move faster than a team your size should be able to. - The judgment to tell the founder when an idea is wrong, and the candor to do it directly. It helps if you've: - Worked with connected devices, telemetry, or IoT data. - Built subscription or membership systems — billing, access, and the edge cases that come with them. - Handled consumer health data, or integrated wearables, with the care that requires. - Taken something from zero to launched before, in a small team, without much scaffolding. ## How we work Direct, not blunt — we say the thing, we don't pad it, and we're never cold about it. No false urgency, no hype. The work is the work. Strong async with a few synchronous hours a day suits how we operate. If you've been looking for a place that lets one excellent builder own something real, this might be exactly it. ## Compensation A competitive base, plus milestone bonuses tied to delivery — paid as you ship defined build gates, not against a clock. There's room to grow into a leadership role and the equity that comes with it. We'll walk through the specifics early. ## How to apply Send a short note and whatever best shows your work — a repo, a product you shipped, something you're proud of. Two things we actually read: tell us about the hardest thing you've taken from zero to launched, and what you'd want to understand first about our product before you'd commit to a timeline.
