## About the role Zentium: an AI-native healthcare workforce operations platform that helps health systems, MSOs, and provider groups automate credentialing, scheduling, and labor analytics. Our builds run on modern stacks under real compliance constraints (SOC 2, HIPAA-adjacent workloads), so the infrastructure underneath has to be as considered as the product on top of it. We are looking for a DevOps engineer who treats infrastructure as a product: versioned, observable, secure by default, and boring in all the right ways. You will own the platform layer across Zentium's internal product infrastructure — the CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments, and the guardrails that let small teams ship quickly without compromising their compliance posture. You will work across several engagements and product surfaces at once, moving between a greenfield startup environment and a regulated healthcare tenant in the same week. This is a hands-on role with real ownership. You will not be handed a runbook — you will be writing it. ## Responsibilities - Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that take code from commit to production safely and fast (GitHub Actions or equivalent). - Own infrastructure-as-code across environments — provisioning, configuration, and teardown should be reproducible and reviewable, never click-ops. - Stand up and harden cloud environments primarily AWS and GCP for multi-tenant SaaS workloads across client and internal builds. - Containerize and orchestrate services (Docker, and Kubernetes or managed container platforms) with sane scaling, secrets, and networking. - Build the observability layer — logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting — so we find problems before clients do. - Implement and document the controls that keep us SOC 2-ready and HIPAA-aware: access management, audit logging, secrets handling, change management, and least-privilege everywhere. - Partner with product engineers to make the right thing the easy thing — golden paths, templates, and platform tooling that reduce per-project setup cost. - Support deployment of AI and LLM-backed services in production, including the automation pipelines that power Zentium's ZenCheck and ZenSync products. ## Technologies - Cloud: AWS and GCP, some Azure exposure - IaC: Terraform - CI/CD: GitHub Actions - Containers: Docker, Kubernetes / managed container services - App stacks you will be deploying: Next.js / Tailwind front ends, FastAPI / Python services, Node.js, SQL and serverless data stores - Identity and access: Google IdP, JumpCloud, SSO/SCIM federation - Compliance: SOC 2 frameworks; HIPAA-aware handling for healthcare workloads ## Requirements - 4+ years in DevOps, SRE, platform, or cloud infrastructure engineering. - Production experience with at least one major cloud provider and a track record running real workloads, not just demos. - Strong infrastructure-as-code skills — you reach for Terraform before the console. - Solid CI/CD design and maintenance experience. - Comfortable with containers and orchestration in production. - Working knowledge of cloud security fundamentals: IAM, secrets management, network segmentation, encryption in transit and at rest. - Scripting fluency (Python, Bash, or similar) and comfort automating away toil. - Clear written communication — you document decisions and leave things better than you found them. ## Nice to have - Hands-on experience supporting a SOC 2 or HIPAA audit and implementing the technical controls behind it. - Multi-tenant SaaS infrastructure experience, ideally in a healthcare or regulated industry context. - Familiarity with deploying AI/ML or LLM-backed services in production (model serving, inference cost/latency tradeoffs, MLOps tooling). - Identity federation work (Entra ID / Google Workspace / JumpCloud, SCIM provisioning). - Consulting or agency background — comfort working across multiple client environments and stakeholders simultaneously. ## What we offer - Real ownership of the platform from day one — your work ships and stays shipped. - Variety: greenfield client builds and regulated healthcare product environments, not the same stack forever. - A small, senior team that values decisive, lean engineering over process for its own sake. - AI-native by default — you will deploy the kind of systems most teams are only starting to think about. ## About the company Zentium: an AI-native healthcare workforce operations platform that helps health systems, MSOs, and provider groups automate credentialing, scheduling, and labor analytics.
