## About the role
As a AI Agents Engineer, you'll design, build, and scale the intelligent systems that power learning experiences for millions. You'll work on cutting-edge agent infrastructure that learns, reasons, and improves over time.
This is a hands-on, highly technical role that combines backend engineering, AI experimentation, and strategic thinking. We've already deployed agent-powered products to real users—now we're scaling to millions more.
## Sample projects could include…
- Building a multi-agent orchestration system that coordinates content generation, review, and publishing workflows—cutting content creation time by 60%.
- Simplifying agent debugging by creating observability tooling (traces, logs, debugging UI) that helps the team understand agent reasoning in production.
- Designing an introspective evaluation framework where agents score their own outputs and trigger human review loops when confidence is low.
- Improving agent personalization by implementing memory using Neo4j to maintain learner context across sessions.
- Driving agent runtime optimization, reducing median response latency from 4s to 800ms without sacrificing output quality.
- Partnering with Product to prototype a new agent type that conducts Socratic tutoring conversations, from research to beta deployment in 3 weeks.
## You might be a fit if you…
- Have 5+ years in backend engineering with hands-on experience building and deploying agentic systems or LLM-powered workflows.
- Are familiar with LangGraph, Mastra or a similar agent orchestration framework.
- Are proficient in TypeScript, Node.js, and serverless deployment patterns.
- Have worked with both relational (PostgreSQL) and graph (Neo4j) databases.
- Have a strong grasp of modular code design, introspective logging, and agent state management.
- Establish AI development patterns for the team, not just use them yourself.
- Can validate multi-million dollar architectural decisions through POCs.
- Write clean, composable code that scales and build abstractions that make systems easier to evolve.
- Have deep curiosity, an experimentation mindset, and can debug abstract systems.
- Communicate clearly and document decisions concisely.
- Stay current with emerging frameworks, open-source libraries, and research.
- Are enthusiastic about mentoring and collaborative problem-solving.
## Benefits
