## About the role We're building a next-generation healthcare app focused on out-of-hospital care, proactive guidance, and low-friction health management. The goal is to reduce how much the patient has to actively manage themselves by creating a system that can intelligently handle reminders, care-plan follow-up, medication workflows, appointment coordination, and personalized next-step guidance in the background. We are looking for an iOS developer to design and build the first version of the Vitarc mobile app. This role is focused on the iOS app experience, product design, interface development, and integration with backend APIs. The ideal candidate should be able to create a premium, Apple-native, medical-tech user experience that feels polished, reliable, and intuitive rather than like a generic chatbot or basic health tracker. ## Responsibilities - Design and develop the Vitarc iOS app using Swift and SwiftUI. - Build a clean, modern, Apple-native mobile interface based on our existing product concept, mockups, and brand direction. - Create user flows for onboarding, patient profile setup, health dashboards, AI health summaries, chronic condition tracking, alerts, and care recommendations. - Integrate the iOS app with backend APIs, authentication, databases, and AI-generated outputs. - Implement health-focused iOS features where relevant, such as Apple HealthKit, notifications, widgets, and Live Activities. - Build polished UI components for medical insights, risk alerts, daily plans, wearable data, and patient progress tracking. - Work closely with the backend/AI engineer to make sure clinical outputs are displayed clearly, safely, and beautifully. - Ensure the app is secure, scalable, responsive, and suitable for handling sensitive health-related data. - Help prepare the app for TestFlight and eventual App Store submission. ## Requirements - Strong experience building iOS apps with Swift and SwiftUI. - Experience shipping or significantly contributing to at least one real mobile app. - Strong understanding of Apple Human Interface Guidelines and modern iOS design patterns. - Ability to turn Figma/mockups/product ideas into polished, functional app screens. - Experience integrating mobile apps with REST APIs, authentication systems, and cloud backends. - Strong attention to UI detail, spacing, typography, responsiveness, and overall product feel. - Comfortable working in an early-stage startup environment with fast iteration. - Able to communicate clearly and collaborate with technical and non-technical team members. ## Nice to have - Experience with health, wellness, medical, or wearable apps. - Experience with Apple HealthKit, Watch connectivity, widgets, Live Activities, or push notifications. - Experience with Firebase, Supabase, AWS, or similar backend services. - Familiarity with privacy, security, and compliance considerations for health data. - Basic understanding of AI product interfaces, especially how to present AI-generated insights safely and clearly.
