The primary goal is to build and maintain scalable APIs, data models, and cloud infrastructure that support real-time product experiences. ## What you'll do ### Backend Engineering - Build and maintain backend services using Node.js and Express. - Design and optimise MongoDB schemas for product and telemetry workloads. - Develop and maintain RESTful APIs used by frontend and mobile applications. - Support frontend and mobile teams with clean API design and smooth integration workflows. ### Infrastructure & Reliability - Work with AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, and RDS to deploy and scale applications. - Improve server performance, reliability, logging, and operational visibility. - Contribute across the stack where needed, but with backend ownership as the primary focus. - Help maintain secure, stable, and observable production systems. ## Must-have qualifications - Two - Four years of experience building backend applications with Node.js and Express. - Practical experience with MongoDB schema design and query optimisation. - Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs. - Working knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, or RDS. - Experience handling production debugging, server performance, and reliability issues. - Good understanding of secure coding practices and system design basics. - Strong communication and collaboration skills in a startup environment. ## Good to have - Experience with RabbitMQ or other messaging systems. - Familiarity with Cloudflare. - Experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL. - Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, observability tooling, and production monitoring. - Familiarity with real-time data processing or sports analytics platforms.
