Firmware Engineer

## About the role I am Ichha Rathod, Co-Founder and Director at Zapygo, an energy-tech startup founded by IIT-Delhi alumni with past experience in Google & Goldman Sachs. We're a small, fast-moving team building impactful products in the fuel-tech space. We are looking for an Embedded Firmware Developer / Firmware Engineer to work on firmware for Zapygo's IoT controllers and connected hardware systems. The role involves embedded C/C++, microcontroller programming, modem communication, sensor integration, device-server communication, OTA update flows, and debugging real hardware in field-like conditions. This is a high-ownership role for someone who enjoys working close to hardware and wants hands-on exposure to real-world IoT product development in a fast-moving startup. ## Responsibilities - Writing and maintaining embedded firmware for IoT controllers and hardware devices - Integrating and debugging communication protocols such as UART, RS485, CAN, SPI, I2C, BLE, or similar - Working with GSM/LTE/NB-IoT/4G modems for internet connectivity and server communication - Implementing APIs, HTTP/MQTT communication, data transmission, and device-server interaction logic - Working with the hardware/software team to test firmware on actual devices and field setups - Improving firmware reliability, stability, power behavior, error handling, and recovery mechanisms - Collaborating directly with the founders and the core team ## Requirements - C++ - C - Hardware Engineering - Firmware - TCP/IP - Uart - HTTP - STM32 - Embedded C/C++ - Embedded Firmware Development - MQTT - Microcontroller programming - I2C SPI UART USART USB - ESP32 - Modems ## What we offer - Remote (Bengaluru) - No experience required - Internship - Remote Work Policy - Remote only - Company Location: Bengaluru - Visa Sponsorship: Not Available - Preferred Timezones: Maldives Time - Relocation: Allowed ## About the company Zapygo Energy Tech-enabled fuel delivery and monitoring Growing fast
