## About the role
We are seeking a data scientist to join our team. You will work on complex data challenges that require strong fundamentals in Neural Networks, machine learning, statistical modeling, and software engineering. While you'll be working on specialized infrastructure problems, your focus will be on building robust, scalable solutions using proven data science techniques.
## Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize Neural Networks (especially CNN) based machine learning models especially in image classification, etc to solve complex image classification challenges
- Work with large image datasets and ETL pipelines on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Collaborate with engineers to design and implement data science solutions
- Analyze model performance and iterate on approaches based on results
## Required Skills & Experience
### Core Technical Competencies
- Proficiency in Python with hands-on experience building and testing data science code
- Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals: image classification models and datasets especially DINOv2, etc, supervised learning, feature engineering, model selection, and evaluation metrics
- Experience with at least one ML framework: TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn
- Familiarity with statistical methods and ability to think critically about data
- Basic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
### Software Engineering Skills
- Version control (Git) and familiarity with collaborative development workflows
- Ability to write documented, tested, and maintainable code
- Understanding of debugging and troubleshooting approaches
## Nice to Have
- Experience with distributed computing frameworks (Spark, Pandas on Dask)
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) or orchestration tools
- Experience deploying models to production
- Contributions to open source or personal projects demonstrating data science work
## What we are Looking For
You have 2< years of professional or academic experience with data science. You understand the fundamentals of imge classification, machine learning and statistical methods, and you are comfortable writing production-quality Python code. You are curious about how systems work, detail-oriented, and ready to tackle complex technical problems. You don't need to know everything - we are happy to teach - but you should be honest to admit, eager to learn and willing to dive deep into hard problems.
