## About the Role We are seeking a Head of iOS Engineering to lead the iOS development of a next-generation music technology platform currently in development. This is a senior technical role for an experienced iOS engineer who can take ownership of the mobile application build, work closely with backend engineering teams, and help bring a high-quality product to market. This is not a junior developer role. The ideal candidate must have a live working portfolio of published iOS apps, strong experience with Apple's development ecosystem, and practical knowledge of what it takes to build, test, provision, submit, and maintain an app across multiple iOS versions, devices, and user environments. The product includes elements common to a modern DSP, including music streaming, user accounts, content access, messaging/social features, analytics, and fintech-related functionality that allows users, artists, and participating parties to view balances, track activity, and support payout-related workflows. The app concept itself is proprietary. Full product details will be shared only under appropriate confidentiality terms. ## Key Responsibilities ### iOS App Leadership The Head of iOS Engineering will be responsible for leading the iOS application build from development through beta readiness, including: - Building and maintaining the iOS application using Swift and Apple-native development standards. - Translating product requirements, wireframes, and UX flows into a functional, polished mobile experience. - Creating a stable app architecture that can support user growth, feature expansion, and future commercial deployment. - Ensuring the app performs reliably across current and reasonably supported iOS versions. - Owning the iOS technical roadmap in coordination with the founder, product direction, backend engineering, and future design resources. The candidate should have experience with: - Apple Developer Program setup and management. - Certificates, provisioning profiles, bundle identifiers, app signing, and TestFlight deployment. - App Store Connect setup, metadata preparation, build submission, and review-cycle management. - Resolving App Store review issues and technical rejections. - Managing builds across different iOS versions and device types. - Beta testing workflows, crash reporting, performance monitoring, and release versioning. - Understanding Apple compliance expectations around payments, subscriptions, user accounts, content, privacy, and financial-related features. ## Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should have: - A strong live portfolio of published iOS apps or a serious working app portfolio. - Professional experience building iOS applications in Swift. - Practical knowledge of Xcode, SwiftUI and/or UIKit. - Experience shipping apps through TestFlight and App Store review. - Strong understanding of mobile app architecture, API integration, authentication, and app lifecycle management. - Experience working with backend teams on production-grade mobile product.
