## About the role OtterHalf is a dating app for South Asian singles in the U.S. and Canada. We are building a more intentional alternative to endless swiping, with prompt-led profiles, clearer likes, and a product experience designed around better conversations. We are looking for a New Grad Full-Stack Engineer to help build user-facing product features, backend systems, internal tools, and quality improvements for a live consumer app. This is a high-ownership engineering role for someone early in their career who wants to work across product surfaces instead of being limited to one narrow area. You will work directly with the founder and contribute to real features used by actual members. ## What you'll work on - Build and improve user-facing features across mobile, web, and backend surfaces - Improve onboarding, profile, discovery, likes, matches, messaging, referrals, and account flows - Build internal tools for moderation, analytics, support, and operations - Improve reliability, observability, testing, and release quality for a live consumer app - Debug production issues and improve user-facing error handling - Collaborate on product decisions using user feedback and product metrics - Write maintainable code with clear tradeoffs - Help turn early product ideas into working, polished features ## Requirements - Recent graduate or early-career engineer with strong software engineering fundamentals - Strong coding ability in at least one modern programming language - Experience building meaningful web, mobile, backend, or full-stack projects - Comfortable working with APIs, databases, client-server product flows, and debugging tools - Able to reason about product behavior, edge cases, and user experience - Willing to learn unfamiliar parts of the codebase quickly - Strong written communication skills - Comfortable working independently with clear goals and direct feedback - Interest in consumer apps, social products, dating apps, marketplaces, or community products ## Nice to have - Experience shipping a real app, website, internal tool, or open-source project - Experience with mobile app development - Experience with backend services, relational databases, or cloud-hosted applications - Experience with testing, monitoring, analytics, or production debugging - Experience working on social, marketplace, messaging, or consumer subscription products ## Who this is not a fit for - Someone who only wants tightly scoped tickets with no product ambiguity - Someone who does not want to work across different par
