Senior Frontend Engineer

## About the role HelioAI (helioai.tech) builds an AI concierge for Shopify brands, helping shoppers get answers, discover products, and complete purchases, while reducing support workload. We're looking for a senior frontend engineer who can own the entire frontend surface end to end. You'll architect and ship our merchant dashboard, AI chat widget, analytics, and onboarding flows, set the bar for code quality, and mentor juniors. You'll work directly with the founders on product direction. Modern team, no crunch, clear ownership, high quality shipping expected. ## What you'll do - Own architecture for our React/Next.js stack (component system, state, routing, performance budgets) - Lead end-to-end delivery of major surfaces: merchant dashboard, embeddable chat widget, analytics, training/config screens, Shopify onboarding - Set frontend standards: TypeScript discipline, testing strategy, PR review quality, design system consistency - Drive performance: Lighthouse, Core Web Vitals, bundle size, render perf, widget load time on third party sites - Build the embedded chat SDK that runs on hundreds of Shopify storefronts with strict size, isolation, and reliability constraints - Partner with design to push UI quality past "clean Figma conversion" into actually delightful interactions - Mentor frontend interns and engineers, run code reviews, raise the bar - Make build, deploy, and observability decisions for the frontend (Vercel, Sentry, analytics, feature flags) ## What you'll work on (examples) - Embeddable AI chat widget loaded across high traffic D2C storefronts (Soulflower, Nysh, Ashpveda, SarinSkin, Bake) - Merchant dashboard: agent training, brand config, product recommendations, escalations, conversation review - Analytics surfaces: session to conversion funnels, support deflection, revenue attribution - Shopify app integrations and onboarding flows - Internal admin tools for the AI ops team ## What we expect - 4+ years building production React, ideally 2+ on Next.js - Strong TypeScript, comfortable with complex state (Zustand/Redux/Jotai/whatever) and server state (React Query/SWR) - Shipped a non trivial product end to end, not just feature work inside someone else's architecture - Real performance work on your resume, not just "I ran Lighthouse once" - Care about design quality, not just functional correctness - Async, written communication first, low ego, ships small and often ## Nice to have - Built or contributed to an embeddable widget or SDK - Shopify ecosystem experience - Worked on AI/chat UI (streaming responses, tool calls, message states) - Open source contributions or a personal project we can actually try ## Send Resume + GitHub + 2 projects you've shipped + a 3 line note on the hardest frontend problem you've solved, to https://www.linkedin.com/in/prkskrs/
