## About the role We are seeking a highly skilled Snowflake Tech Lead & Data Engineer with expertise in dbt, Snowflake Cortex, and advanced data engineering practices. The ideal candidate will lead a team of engineers, design and implement scalable data pipelines, ensure data quality and governance, and drive innovation in data streaming and analytics within Snowflake. ## Key Responsibilities ### Leadership & Team Management - Lead and mentor a team of 6+ data engineers over the past 1–2 years. - Drive technical excellence, code reviews, and best practices in SQL, Python, and Snowflake development. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data engineering initiatives with business goals. ### Snowflake Expertise - Hands-on experience with Snowflake Cortex for advanced analytics and AI-driven insights. - Proficient in Streams, Tasks, and Dynamic Tables for real-time data processing. - Design, implement, and manage Snowpipe for automated ingestion. - Build and maintain Streamlit applications within Snowflake for interactive data visualization and exploration. ### Data Engineering & Pipeline Development - Architect, design, and execute data pipelines with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance. - Implement data streaming solutions and real-time ingestion using APIs, Python scripts, and Snowflake-native tools. - Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance across all pipelines. - Expertise in debugging, error handling, and failure notifications to maintain high system reliability. ### Tooling & Integration - Strong proficiency in dbt (Data Build Tool) for transformation workflows and modular pipeline design. - Experience with API integrations and custom ingestion frameworks using Python. - Advanced SQL and Python skills for data modeling, transformation, and automation. ## Required Skills & Qualifications - 6+ years of experience in data engineering with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role. - Deep expertise in Snowflake ecosystem including Cortex, Streams, Tasks, Time Travel, Cloning, RBAC, RAP, RLS, Dynamic Tables, and Snowpipe. - Strong hands-on skills in SQL (basic and advanced) and Python. - Proven experience with dbt for data transformation and pipeline orchestration. - Experience in data governance, quality frameworks, and compliance standards. - Track record of building and managing Streamlit applications within Snowflake. - Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on debugging, error handling, and system reliability. - Strong communication and leadership skills to manage and mentor engineering teams.
