## About the Role We're looking for a Junior DevOps Engineer to join our infrastructure team on a contract basis. You'll support the design, build, and day-to-day operation of our cloud infrastructure, working alongside experienced engineers on AWS-based systems. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their DevOps career who wants hands-on exposure to modern Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and observability tooling in a collaborative environment. ## Key Responsibilities - Assist in building and maintaining cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (CDK / Terraform) - Support deployment and operation of applications on AWS (ECS, Lambda, VPC, RDS Aurora Postgres) - Help maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions - Contribute to monitoring, alerting, and dashboards in Datadog - Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and escalate where appropriate - Document infrastructure components, runbooks, and operational procedures - Collaborate with development teams to support smooth releases ## Required Skills & Experience - 1–2 years' experience in a DevOps, SRE, or cloud engineering role (including internships or strong personal projects) - Working knowledge of AWS core services (e.g. EC2, S3, IAM, VPC basics) - Exposure to Infrastructure as Code — CDK, Terraform, or similar - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, ideally GitHub Actions - Basic understanding of containers (Docker) and orchestration concepts - Some scripting ability in TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or Bash - Comfortable with Git and GitHub workflows - Good communication skills and a willingness to learn ## Nice to Have - Experience with Datadog or similar monitoring tools (Grafana, CloudWatch, New Relic) - Exposure to ECS, Lambda, or RDS Aurora Postgres - Any AWS certification (e.g. Cloud Practitioner, Solutions Architect Associate) - Awareness of security and cost-optimisation best practices ## Tech You'll Work With ### Cloud: AWS (ECS, Lambda, VPC, RDS Aurora Postgres) ### IaC: CDK, Terraform ### CI/CD: GitHub Actions ### Monitoring: Datadog ### Languages: TypeScript ### Version Control: Git, GitHub ## How to Apply Please email your CV and a short note about your relevant experience to us, or submit it through our website.
