## About the role
Nest Navigate is a consumer platform focused on improving homebuyer readiness before users enter the lending and real estate process. We sit upstream in the funnel, helping users build confidence and make better financial decisions before they engage with lenders.
We are post-beta, generating revenue, and actively working with partners across lending, brokerage, and lead generation.
This is an early-stage environment with real product, real users, and real iteration cycles.
## Role Overview
We're looking for a software engineer intern who wants to work directly on a live product and ship quickly. We are regularly testing different games to improve homebuyer readiness and lift for our pre-homebuyers.
You will be working closely with the founding team and engineering leadership to build and iterate on core features across the platform. This is not a passive internship — you'll be expected to contribute meaningfully.
## Compensation
This is currently a 4 month unpaid internship.
## What You'll Work On
- Build and ship features across the front-end (React) and backend systems
- Contribute to interactive product experiences (including game-like modules using Phaser)
- Help improve performance, responsiveness, and usability across the platform
- Work on onboarding flows, user progression systems, and engagement loops
- Collaborate with product, design, and marketing teams to iterate quickly
## Tech Stack
- Frontend: React
- Interactive Modules: Phaser (2D gameplay elements)
- Backend: APIs and data systems (Node.js or similar)
- Tools: Notion, Slack, Git
## What We're Looking For
- Strong fundamentals in JavaScript and React
- Passion for gaming
- Interest in building consumer-facing products
- Ability to move quickly and take ownership
- Comfortable working in an early-stage, sometimes ambiguous environment
- Bonus: experience with game development, animations, or interactive UI
## Why This Role
- Work directly on a live product, not side projects
- High ownership and visibility into product decisions
- Exposure to startup building, product iteration, and real user feedback
- Opportunity to grow into a full-time role based on performance
## What we offer
- Real product experience
- Direct access to founders and decision-making
- Potential for future paid or full-time opportunities
- School credit (if applicable)
