## About the role We're hiring a fractional engineer to do the building. You'll work with the team on each engagement, scope the work alongside the client, and ship something they actually use. The work spans the whole stack: front-end, back-end, integrations with the tools our clients live in (Notion, Gmail, Google Drive, Slack, and whatever else a given engagement requires), and LLM-heavy applications where the model is core to what's being built, not bolted on at the end. This is hands-on engineering for real users with real budgets. You'll have unusual proximity to the people using what you build, which is the whole point. ## Who we're looking for You've shipped end-to-end as one of the first engineers somewhere small. You have opinions about what good LLM applications look like, including agents, evals, prompts, and retrieval, and you know where each of those actually earns its keep. You're equally comfortable wiring up an integration in an afternoon and architecting something more durable when the engagement justifies it. You write code other people can read. You communicate clearly in writing because most of our work happens that way. We are not a fit if you specialize narrowly in one layer of the stack, need a fully formed roadmap before you can move, or treat AI as a buzzword. ## Engagement - Fractional, 10 to 20 hours per week, $75 to $150 per hour depending on experience - Monthly minimum of 40 hours, scaled up by mutual agreement when client engagements ramp - 1099 contractor, paid monthly - Fully remote, US-based ## How to apply Send a short note about a client-facing AI application you've built end-to-end and what you learned shipping it. No cover letters.
