## About the Role Join Payment's Lab (payments-lab.com) — a team of payments and fraud prevention experts building next-generation fintech and ML products. Our flagship solution, EagleSense (eaglesense.ai), is an ML-driven platform designed to detect and prevent chargeback fraud in real time. We're now hiring an AWS Developer with strong backend knowledge to take ownership of the cloud infrastructure and backend systems that power EagleSense (80% of your time), while also contributing to smaller-scale payments-related products built by Payment's Lab (20% of your time). ## Responsibilities ### For EagleSense (80%) - Cloud Infrastructure Ownership: Design, implement and maintain our AWS infrastructure and solve cloud-related business challenges. - Service Management: Set up, monitor, and optimize services like AWS Lambda, API Gateway, EC2, S3, SQS, Redshift, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, QuickSight, etc. - Backend Engineering: Build, optimize, and maintain backend code (Go). Develop ETL pipelines and client-facing dashboards. Design secure, scalable APIs that integrate multiple data sources and support streaming data. - Cross-Team Collaboration: Together with the product and data science teams, translate requirements into infrastructure and backend solutions. - Scalability & Performance: Ensure infrastructure is secure, highly available, and production-ready. - Client Interaction: Participate in client calls and clearly explain technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders. ### For Payments Lab (20%) - Support backend development for smaller fintech payment products. - Assist the development team at the planning and review stages. - Configure solutions using existing modules (login, API integration, tokenization, access management, etc). - Handle occasional security-related infrastructure and architecture tasks. - Apply and maintain best security practices across APIs, identity/access control, and data flows, ensuring fintech-grade protection from day one. ## Requirements ### Technical Expertise - Strong experience with AWS services (Lambda, SQS, S3, EC2, Redshift, DynamoDB, etc.), terraform. - Proficiency in Go (Golang) for backend development and scripting. - Experience with real-time data pipelines and event-driven architectures. - Proven ability to build and maintain APIs and backend systems for web-based products. - Experience collaborating with data science teams and supporting data-driven products. - Understanding of production-level infrastructure and best practices for scalability, security, and performance. - (optional) Experience in fintech or payments is a strong advantage. ### Soft Skills & Work Style - Autonomous & Proactive: You take initiative and own solutions end-to-end. - Analytical & Practical: You solve technical problems with a clear understanding of business priorities. - Strong Communicator: Comfortable participating in client meetings and translating technical decisions to stakeholders (B2+ English). - Team Player: You work well in fast-paced, globally distributed environments. ## What We Offer - Remote-First & Flexible: Work from anywhere, align on key team syncs and client calls. - Cutting-Edge Projects: Be part of an expert team at the forefront of ML-powered fraud detection in payments. - High Impact Role: Own infrastructure decisions and shape the core of a growing platform. - Transparent Pay & Equity: Contract role with competitive pay and equity opportunity. - Room to Grow: Expand your skills, take on more ownership, and grow with the product. - Additional Perks: - Paid vacation and sick leave - Flexible time off policy - Budget for conferences, courses, and professional development ## About the Company Payment's Lab is a team of payments and fraud prevention experts building next-generation fintech and ML products.
