## About Lumo
Lumo is a TikTok Shop and Instagram affiliate marketing platform. Brands use Lumo to discover creator affiliates, run automated outreach campaigns, manage CRM pipelines, track samples, and attribute revenue from creator content, across TikTok and Instagram. We are a small, fast team. The product is live with real paying brands and we are building the Instagram extension in parallel.
The stack: Next.js 14, Supabase (PostgreSQL), Prisma, Inngest, Upstash Redis, Clerk, tRPC, shadcn/ui, Tailwind, OpenAI, Vercel.
## The role
You are a full-stack engineer who is genuinely comfortable owning both frontend and backend work. Not a frontend engineer who can write a database query when pushed, and not a backend engineer who can style a div when required. You move fluidly across the stack and take features from Prisma schema to tRPC router to React component without needing to hand off.
You will be the primary frontend engineer at Lumo, working directly with the Founding Engineer and our AI Engineer on both the Instagram build and ongoing TikTok feature development. You will work with a codebase that has clear patterns, well-defined module boundaries, and thorough documentation, but you need to be able to read existing code, understand the conventions quickly, and extend them without breaking them.
## What you will work on
- In the first 30 days: the platform switcher, extending the existing shop selector to support both TikTok and Instagram accounts, and making every page in the dashboard platform context-aware. This touches nearly every page in the app and requires understanding the existing component structure quickly.
- In the first 90 days: the complete Instagram frontend, Creator Radar with Instagram-specific filters and results columns, CRM Kanban board with Instagram acquisition stages and the DM window countdown badge, campaign creation flow with the four-wave acquisition journey, Settings Instagram tab with catalogue health dashboard, DM settings, and cold email infrastructure status.
- Ongoing: the creator portal, a separate authenticated section of the app for creators who register on Lumo. Earnings dashboard, affiliate links, creative briefs, direct messaging with brands. This is the largest frontend build in the Instagram scope and is entirely new.
- Ongoing: as Lumo grows, you maintain and extend both TikTok and Instagram UI alongside backend tRPC routers and Inngest jobs. Full-stack means you ship features end to end.
## What we are looking for
- You have built production Next.js applications with the App Router, not just Pages Router.
- You understand server components, client components, and when to use each.
- You are confident with tRPC, you can write a new router, add procedures, handle errors, and consume them in the frontend without needing to look up the docs every time.
- You understand Prisma well enough to write schema migrations, understand relations, and write queries without pulling back more data than you need.
- You have built component systems. Lumo uses shadcn/ui and Tailwind. The platform-aware component pattern, same component, different config based on platform context, is central to the Instagram frontend design. You need to think in composable, reusable components, not one-off page-specific implementations.
- You take design seriously. Lumo's product is used by brand managers who compare it to Notion, Linear, and other polished tools. You do not just make it work, you make it feel right.
## Stack you will use every day
- Next.js 14 App Router
- tRPC
- Prisma
- TypeScript
- shadcn/ui
- Tailwind CSS
- Supabase
- Inngest
- Upstash Redis
- Clerk
- React Query
- Vercel
## Bonus points
- Experience building multi-tenant SaaS products.
- Experience with Inngest or similar background job systems.
- Experience with real-time UI updates, live progress bars, counters that update without polling.
- Previous work in creator economy, influencer marketing, or e-commerce tooling.
- Experience with Clerk multi-tenancy and role-based access.
## What you get
- Real ownership of the product from day one. You are not a contractor fulfilling a spec, you are a permanent engineer who has a say in what gets built and how.
- Direct collaboration with the CTO.
- A well-documented, well-structured codebase.
- Equity in a company building in a category that is growing fast.
- You will ship features that real brands use daily within your first two weeks.
## Practical note on timeline
We are a team of three engineers, CTO, AI Engineer, and you. We are looking for someone who can start by early June at the latest to ensure continuity on the Instagram build which is already underway.
