Lead React Native Engineer

## About the role Hevy is looking for a Lead React Native Developer to join our growing team. In this role, you'll take on technical leadership, helping to architect, develop, and scale our mobile apps. You'll tackle our most complex engineering challenges, improve system performance, and collaborate closely with product managers and designers to shape the future of Hevy. We're a small, fast-moving team supporting millions of users, so your work will have a massive impact on both our product and our users. You'll build at scale across iOS and Android ensuring it remains robust and high-performing as we continue to grow. ## Responsibilities - Lead and contribute to the development of our React Native app - Architect scalable solutions, improving system performance and reliability. - Mentor and support other engineers, fostering a culture of growth and technical excellence. - Own projects end-to-end, from technical planning to execution. - Work cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver new features and refine existing ones. ## Requirements - 5+ years of experience building React Native mobile apps. - Deep understanding of at least one of the native platforms (iOS/Android) - Tech Leadership experience - Strong problem-solving skills, with a track record of solving technical challenges at scale. - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. ## Nice to have - A passion for weightlifting, calisthenics, or fitness! ## What we offer - Hybrid work setup (2-3 days a week in office) - 24 days of vacation per year - The opportunity to work on a high-impact product with millions of active users - Yearly offsite (previously: Mexico, Canada, Mallorca, Portugal) - Relocation Available to our Canada or Spain office for the right candidate ## About the company https://www.hevyapp.com/about-us/
