Senior Software Engineer

## About the role You'll build and improve backend services for large-scale document ingestion, preprocessing, indexing, search, synchronization, and workflow orchestration. You'll work on systems where reliability, throughput, observability, and data correctness matter every day. Our backend stack is mainly TypeScript/Node.js, with PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, Temporal, Redis, AWS, Kubernetes, and some Python services. TypeScript and Node.js experience is a plus, but strong backend experience with similar technologies matters more. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across different time zones, working closely with product, frontend, platform, and domain experts to deliver reliable backend systems. ## Responsibilities - Build and improve backend services for large-scale document ingestion, preprocessing, indexing, search, synchronization, and workflow orchestration. - Work on systems where reliability, throughput, observability, and data correctness matter every day. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across different time zones, working closely with product, frontend, platform, and domain experts to deliver reliable backend systems. ## Requirements - Senior-level backend engineering experience. - Cloud experience with platforms such as AWS or similar. - Strong TypeScript/Node.js skills, or experience with similar backend technologies. - Ability to work independently and lead in. ## Nice to have - Experience with PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, Temporal or similar workflow systems, AWS, and high-volume document processing. - Curiosity about AI infrastructure, embeddings, Agents, RAG, and legal technology. ## What we offer - Join a team of around 20 engineers. - Help scale the systems behind document processing, search, integrations, and AI-ready knowledge infrastructure. - Work on production backend systems and large amounts of data. - Opportunity to work independently, take ownership of technical decisions, and lead internal projects from idea to delivery. - Think carefully about queues, workflows, indexing, database performance, API contracts, observability, and production reliability. ## About the company Lexis® Create+, formerly known as Henchman, is part of LexisNexis following its acquisition in 2024.
