## About the Role
Social Capital is building the world's first distribution infrastructure and technology company. Our clients include some of the most consequential startups and founders in the world. We've generated 500M+ impressions. We've scaled content engines that most agencies can't even conceptualise.
We only work with generational companies. We might be the reason you even know them.
Gamma, $2.1B
Airwallex, $8B
Cartesia, $100M Series A-II
Wispr Flow, $700M
PolyAI, $750M
TripleWhale, $600M
Superblocks, $200M
PlayerZero, $20M Series A
Icon, reached $5 million in revenue within its first 30 days
Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), $40B AUM VC Fund
...and many more.
And now we need someone to own what the world sees when it encounters Social Capital.
Not just the logo, or the website, but build and maintain the entire visual system that makes people stop scrolling, lean in, and remember us.
We're deliberately small (<20 people) but extremely fast-growing (>1000% YoY). We generate profits comparable to a 500-person company with just 20 meticulously selected individuals. We don't hire for roles. We hire for taste, conviction, and the ability to think from first principles. If you're that person, this is where you belong.
The role
You will be the single point of ownership for everything brand and visual at Social Capital. That sounds broad because it is.
This role is about making things look like they couldn't have been made by anyone else, anywhere else.
## Responsibilities
### Months 1-6
You'll own the complete visual and strategic rebrand of Social Capital:
- Brand System - Not a deck. A living philosophy. Every colour choice, typeface decision, spacing rule, and tone guideline will answer: "Why does this express our thesis?"
- Website Redesign - The conversion engine for everything else. When a founder sees our A16Z podcast appearance, when they read our philosophical essays on distribution infrastructure, when they see our clients' testimonials, they land here. This design either proves we're world-class or confirms their doubts.
- Design System - Build the foundation that scales. Templates for everything: recruitment materials, client proposals, social content, event collateral, internal documentation.
- Recruitment Collateral - Design the JD, manifesto, culture deck, and mission statement that attracts the next 20 people. Your design work will literally shape who joins.
- Client Collateral - A lot of creative visual work goes behind product launches: storyboarding the video, collecting references, creating event collateral, client communications, etc. You'll be hands-on deck for a lot of visual work that needs to convey clearly and sell brilliantly. A lot of it is perfection-seeking. Most of it is scrappy.
### Months 6-12
Once the system is set, infinite application:
- Social Content - Own the visual language of our thought leadership in content.
- Event Identity - We're doing exclusive founder gatherings, partnerships, "aura exhibitions" with top VCs. Every physical and digital touchpoint reflects your work.
- Pitch Decks & Client Materials - As we scale from $xxM to $xxxM+ ARR, every proposal, every pitch, every client interaction should feel like it comes from the same institution you designed.
- Brand Extensions - Merchandise. Internal rituals. Potentially physical spaces. Your system is flexible enough to live everywhere.
- Maintaining the Web-Space - New pages, new blogs, new research whitepapers. If all of them look like everyone else's, who's gonna read it?
### Phase 3 (Year 2+): The Institution
You'll have designed the visual language of a company that works with Fortune 500 CMOs. Your design choices will have shaped perception, recruitment, and partnerships at scale.
## Who You Are
You'll thrive here if:
- You are X (Twitter)-native, and have >2 hours of screen-time on X.
- You are scrappy with creating brilliant looking visuals.
- You are full-stack in your sensibilities (ability across the Adobe Suite; graphics, videos, sound engineering, AI-based prototyping — wider, the better!)
- You are a master curator of visual inspiration. You know where to look for inspiration, and how to self-start after that.
- You have built visual identities AND digital product interfaces AND graphics that have seen scale before.
## What You'll Walk Away With
This isn't your ordinary "design job". At the end of two years, you'll:
- have star clientele on your resume.
- have 10x the surface area of learning as opposed to what any other product company will give you, across tooling and clients.
- have been at the forefront of building a brand for the world's most influential and valuable distribution company — potentially a brand that every human on the internet will touch some day.
- generalise your skills to open yourself up to a much wider gamut of roles and abilities across product, growth and brand lines.
