We have a fully remote team that's making a big impact on the healthcare supply chain by working closely with enterprises (health systems, hospitals, consulting firms, etc.), regulatory agencies and industry groups. ## Role Overview We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Application to design and build the workflows, user experiences, and intelligent automations that power Symmetric's web application. As a full stack engineer, you will own features end-to-end — from database schema and backend services through to the React interfaces our customers interact with every day. You will also play a central role in embedding Agentic AI automations into our product, and in building the monitoring and auditing capabilities that give our customers confidence in the integrity of their data. This is a high-impact individual contributor role for someone who enjoys shipping polished application features, solving complex product problems, and working across the stack to deliver durable, scalable software. ## Key Responsibilities - Application Development & Workflows - Design and develop workflows within the web application that enable customers to efficiently manage procurement, item master data, and supply chain operations. - Build full stack features spanning Python and SQL on the backend, TypeScript and React on the frontend, with selective use of Rust for performance-critical components. - Translate ambiguous product requirements into clean, maintainable software that balances short-term delivery with long-term extensibility. - Agentic AI & Automation - Implement Agentic AI automations that reduce manual work for our customers and unlock new product capabilities across the platform. - Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to identify high-leverage opportunities for AI-driven workflows and prototype, evaluate, and productionize them. - Design guardrails, evaluations, and observability for AI features so they remain reliable, safe, and explainable in enterprise healthcare environments. - Monitoring, Auditing & Data Integrity - Build capabilities that monitor and audit user actions and data changes within the application, giving customers clear visibility into who did what, when, and why. - Contribute to application-level security, access controls, and compliance features appropriate for custom
