This role offers the opportunity to work directly with senior developers, learn our complex systems over time, and eventually take on a leading role in the future direction of our applications and technology.
This is a full-time, fully remote position. We welcome candidates from anywhere in the United States, with a preference for candidates located in Virginia, Maryland, Washington, DC, or the East Coast for occasional collaboration and training.
## About the Company
We are a small, established healthcare technology company that develops web-based systems used by statewide Medicaid and managed care programs. Our applications support referral and intake, eligibility determination, clinical assessment, care planning, prior approvals, patient monitoring, and quality assurance activities.
## Responsibilities
- Work with company management and systems analysts to understand business and customer needs.
- Develop and support web-based applications using our internally developed ASP.NET / C# platform.
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and releases.
- Create and maintain SQL Server stored procedures and other database components.
- Debug and resolve issues in both new and existing applications.
- Collaborate with independent testing and production support resources.
- Assist with ongoing maintenance and enhancements to our applications.
- Help evaluate AI coding tools and contribute to the thoughtful adoption of new technologies.
## Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with SQL Server, including strong SQL and stored procedure development.
- Experience with ASP.NET, C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML, and XSLT.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn new technologies and internally developed tools quickly.
- Experience working independently in a fully remote environment while also collaborating effectively with a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and pay close attention to detail.
- U.S. citizen or Green Card holder only.
## Nice to Have
- Interest in healthcare technology, Medicaid, managed care, or other regulated industries.
