Lead Full-Stack Engineer

## About the role We're building X-Streamify, a personal media vault that gives families full ownership and control of their movies, photos, and digital content. We're looking for a Lead Full-Stack Engineer who wants to take a leadership role in stabilizing, restructuring, and scaling a live platform in a fast-moving startup environment. This role offers the opportunity to guide technical direction, mentor engineers, and help transform an existing MVP into a production-ready system. This is an early-stage startup where team members take ownership, move quickly, and help shape the product from the beginning. ## IMPORTANT — PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING THIS IS AN EQUITY-ONLY ROLE. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of a real, functioning platform and play a leadership role in bringing it to full deployment and scale. ## Responsibilities - Lead the technical direction and stabilization of the platform - Review and refactor existing codebase to improve structure, maintainability, and performance - Identify and prioritize system improvements, bug fixes, and architectural enhancements - Coordinate work across frontend, backend, DevOps, and QA teams - Establish development workflows, coding standards, and best practices - Guide system architecture decisions and scalability planning - Oversee debugging and resolution of complex technical issues - Help implement reliable deployment and release processes - Mentor engineers and maintain consistent code quality - Work directly with leadership to define technical priorities and execution plans - Support the transition from MVP to stable production environment ## What we're looking for - Strong full-stack development experience across frontend and backend systems - Experience leading or mentoring engineers in a startup or fast-paced environment - Ability to evaluate existing code and improve it without unnecessary rebuilds - Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills - Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical decisions - Startup mindset — ownership, speed, accountability, and resilience - Experience stabilizing or scaling production systems ## Preferred technologies (not required) - JavaScript / TypeScript - Node.js - React or similar frontend frameworks - REST APIs - MongoDB or similar databases - AWS services (S3, EC2, Lambda, CloudFront) - Docker - CI/CD pipelines - System monitoring and logging tools ## Bonus experience (nice to have) - Experience stabilizing large or fragmented codebases - Experience working in early-stage startups - Experience building scalable deployment workflows - Experience working with media, file uploads, or storage systems - Experience coordinating distributed engineering teams ## What we offer - This is an early-stage startup role offering equity-only compensation at this time. - There is no salary for this position. - Equity range: 0.5% – 2.0%, based on experience, leadership, and long-term commitment. - This is an opportunity to build from the ground up and participate in the company's long-term growth as we work toward funding and scale.
