Founding Engineer

## About the role Metamindz is a fast-growing UK-based IT software company. We help by providing fractional CTOs-as-a-service, building digital products, hiring exceptional technical talent, and conducting tech due diligence for global clients. We're currently hiring a Founding Engineer to work with one of our early-stage clients who are reimagining the future of hospitality. This is a high-impact, architect-level role for an engineer who will become the first engineering hire and take full ownership of building the platform from the ground up, working closely with the founders from day one. ## Responsibilities - Architect and build the core platform, including backend services, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and data pipelines - Design secure, scalable, and reliable systems suitable for real-world operational environments - Lead integrations with external systems and support early data onboarding - Set up observability, monitoring, logging, and performance tooling - Establish engineering standards, documentation, and development workflows from scratch - Remain fully hands-on, contributing code across the stack and solving production issues when needed ## Requirements - 5+ years of professional software engineering experience - Strong background in backend or full-stack development with an architecture-first mindset - Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) - Solid understanding of system design, APIs, secure infrastructure, and data flows - Proven experience building products or platforms from 0 → 1 - Ability to work independently, make technical decisions, and clearly communicate trade-offs - Experience with Python, TypeScript, or similar modern languages - Familiarity with backend frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, Node.js, or Rails - Strong SQL skills and experience with data modeling and database design ## What we offer - On-site collaboration in London (4 days per week) - Competitive compensation and meaningful ownership - Private health insurance and additional benefits - High level of autonomy and long-term technical ownership ## About the company Metamindz is a fast-growing UK-based IT software company.
