Trove is looking for an iOS Engineer to join our early-stage team. As we prepare to launch our first product we need talented developers with bold ideas who can help bring the team's vision to life. You'll work closely with the founders, product, design, and backend engineering to shape the app from its earliest foundations. Your contributions will meaningfully influence the direction of the product, the engineering culture, and the standards we set as we grow. We're looking for someone who thrives in the energy of a founding team where priorities evolve, constraints are real, and momentum matters. You should be excited to roll up your sleeves, make thoughtful architectural decisions with incomplete information, and lay down systems that can support rapid product evolution without compromising the user experience. The right person has strong empathy for the end user and appreciates clean, functional design. You should care about craft, performance, and the details that make an experience feel effortless. This is a hands-on role in a fast-moving environment where ideas turn into shipped features quickly, and where you'll help determine not just how things are built, but how they function and feel. ## Responsibilities On any given week, you might: - Architect core product systems in that will scale long term - Design and implement high-fidelity, animation-heavy user experiences - Partner with Product and Design to turn ambiguous ideas into clean, intuitive flows - Ship experiments quickly, then iterate and expand on what works - Improve app performance, responsiveness, and reliability at scale - Implement networking layers and real-time updates that power live marketplace activity - Make thoughtful tradeoffs between speed and maintainability - Raise the bar on code quality, architecture, and engineering culture ## Requirements You have experience and success in these areas: - Strong proficiency in Swift (SwiftUI and/or UIKit) - Shipping and scaling a highly interactive consumer app - Building complex, stateful interfaces that feel simple - Owning features end-to-end, from design through launch - Collaborating closely with founders, designers, and backend engineers - Moving forward with incomplete information and operating despite ambiguity - Building for marketplace, fintech, gaming, or social apps ## What success looks like Trove feels like a top-tier, category-defining iOS app Complex actions like buying, opening, selling, and redeeming feel simple and intuitive The app is fast, stable, and scales cleanly Our architecture supports rapid iteration without accumulating technical debt Engineering quality becomes a visible differentiator for the company The experience feels polished and intuitive, with a level of design quality users recognize and trust ## Who shouldn't apply Anyone looking to just execute tickets Anyone who prefers heavy process over momentum Anyone who hasn't worked on a consumer product before Anyone uncomfortable with ambiguity or rapid iteration Anyone who doesn't care about the feel of the product ## About the company We're building a new kind of collectibles company from the ground up. Trove lets you buy and open packs digitally, then choose to keep, sell, or physically redeem cards. We're just getting started but our team is led by proven entrepreneurs with multiple exits and has raised capital from top tier investors. We know that putting together a talented, passionate group of people is the most important part of building a business. Our bar is high and our results are exceptional. This is an environment where you'll feel challenged, grow beyond what you've done before, and visibly see how your work impacts the business. Our job is to give you what you need and get out of your way. ## What we offer Beyond that, we offer highly competitive comp, free health insurance, flexible time off, and meaningful equity so you'll share in the company's success. The team is headquartered in NYC and hiring for flexible in-person work.
