## About the Role We're looking for a Founding QA Engineer to establish and lead our quality assurance function. You'll be the first dedicated QA hire at Propsoch, which means you'll have the opportunity to define our testing strategy, build automation frameworks, and create a quality-first culture from the ground up. You'll work across our entire product surface—frontend (web and mobile), backend APIs, and AI/ML features—ensuring that everything we ship meets the highest quality standards. You'll balance manual testing for thorough coverage with automation to scale quality as we grow. This role is perfect for someone who: - Has experience being the first or early QA hire at a startup - Can do both manual testing and build automation frameworks - Understands how to test AI/ML features and data-driven products - Wants to establish quality practices and culture, not just find bugs - Thrives in fast-paced environments where shipping velocity and quality both matter ## What You'll Own ### 1. Comprehensive Testing Coverage You will: - Design and execute comprehensive test plans for frontend, backend, and AI features - Perform manual exploratory testing for new features before they ship - Test across multiple browsers, devices, and user scenarios - Validate data accuracy in property information, pricing, reports - Test edge cases, error states, and failure scenarios - Ensure accessibility and performance standards are met Success looks like: - Zero critical bugs in production - Features ship with confidence that they work across all scenarios - Clear test coverage documentation for all product surfaces - Regression testing catches issues before users do ### 2. Test Automation Framework You will: - Build automated test suites for critical user flows (end-to-end tests) - Write API tests for backend services (integration and contract tests) - Set up automated regression testing in CI/CD pipeline - Create reusable test utilities and helpers for the engineering team - Integrate tests with GitHub Actions for continuous testing Success looks like: - 70%+ of critical flows covered by automated tests - Tests run on every PR, catching regressions before merge - Test execution time is fast enough to not slow down deployment - Flaky tests are minimal (<5% failure rate on passing code) ### 3. AI/ML Feature Testing You will: - Test AI-generated outputs for accuracy, relevance, and consistency (Peace of Mind Reports, property analysis) - Validate data pipelines and model outputs - Test LLM integrations (prompt engineering, response quality, hallucinations) - Create test datasets and scenarios for AI features - Monitor AI feature quality in production Success looks like: - AI outputs are accurate and helpful, not misleading - Edge cases and failure modes are well-tested - Data quality issues are caught before affecting users - AI features degrade gracefully when external services fail ### 4. Quality Processes & Culture You will: - Define bug severity levels and prioritization criteria - Establish testing rituals (feature kickoffs, QA sign-off, release checklists) - Document testing best practices and guidelines - Create test case libraries and regression test suites - Work with PM and engineering to build quality into the development process - Train engineers on testing best practices Success looks like: - Clear, shared understanding of quality standards across the team - Bugs are logged consistently with good reproduction steps - Testing is not a bottleneck—features ship on time with quality - Engineers write better code because quality practices are embedded ## About Propsoch At Propsoch, our mission is to empower every homebuyer in India's top cities to make informed real estate decisions and avoid buyer's remorse.
