Head of AI Engineering

## About the role BraindAI is an AI consulting and product company based in Dublin, Ireland, serving B2B clients across UK and Ireland in legal, finance, and enterprise verticals. We build production AI systems — RAG pipelines, multi-agent workflows, and AI automation — that ship to real enterprise users every week. We're looking for our first Head of AI Engineering to own the entire AI stack and build the engineering team from the ground up. ## Responsibilities - Architect and build production RAG pipelines, multi-agent systems, and LLM integrations - Lead a team of 5-6 AI engineers - Build the frameworks, tooling, and systems that make the entire team 10x faster - Ship production systems to enterprise clients weekly - Define engineering culture, hiring standards, and technical direction - 55% architecture & direction, 20% framework building, 15% hands-on critical paths, 10% research ## Requirements - 3-7 years shipping production AI/LLM systems (not tutorials or POCs) - Claude Code or Cursor as daily drivers — not occasionally, every day - You've built tools for yourself that your team ended up adopting - You think "what would make this problem disappear forever?" not "how do I solve this?" - You've set up AI agent teams, custom workflows, experimented with MCP - India-based, comfortable with remote async work ## The bridge person - Zoom out to "here's the 6-month product vision" and zoom in to "here's the bug on line 47" in the same conversation - Follow both Karpathy, Simon Willison, Swyx (deep tech) AND Greg Isenberg, YC (builder/business) - Think about business impact AND technical elegance - Architect AND execute — not one or the other ## Tech - Claude/Anthropic APIs - LangGraph - FastAPI - vector databases - AWS - MCP - n8n - We don't care about specific tools — we care that you pick up anything fast and know when to build custom ## What we offer - Small team, massive impact — you shape everything - Multiple B2B clients = variety without instability - Dublin HQ with UK/Ireland enterprise market - Technical founder who understands engineering - Real ownership and autonomy ## About the company BraindAI is an AI consulting and product company based in Dublin, Ireland, serving B2B clients across UK and Ireland in legal, finance, and enterprise verticals.
