## About the role We're building VeriRights, an advanced compliance engine that verifies and documents human vs AI contributions in music works, generates audit-ready royalty registration files, and prevents non-royalty-eligible content from being submitted to the royalty organizations. This is an equity-first, early-stage cofounder role: you'll lead engineering, own architecture, ship the MVP, and scale the product with the founder. ## What you'll own - Lead the design and hands-on implementation of the VeriRights tech stack (MVP → Phase 2). - Build and operate the core services: upload pipeline, audio processing workers, fingerprinting/embedding pipeline, attribution engine, export/serializer, and the tamper-evident audit layer. - Hire/manage contractors and engineers; own CI/CD, infra, security, and cost decisions. - Drive technical product decisions with the founder (product, legal requirements). - Ensure production reliability, data privacy, and compliance with evolving legal/industry requirements. ## Must-have technical skills & experience - Proven technical founder or senior engineer background (SaaS, platform, or ML product) with examples of systems you built end-to-end. - Strong backend experience in Python (FastAPI preferred) — building REST/GraphQL APIs, async services, and microservices. - Production experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes — AKS/GKE/EKS) and CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI). - Experience designing and operating worker queues and batch pipelines (Celery/RQ + Redis, or equivalents). - Familiarity with audio/ML workflows: model inference containers, embeddings (wav2vec2 or similar), speaker/voice embeddings (Resemblyzer or similar), and source separation (Spleeter or equivalent). - Experience using or integrating audio fingerprinting / ACR APIs (ACRCloud, Pex, Audible Magic) and building hybrid detection with vector databases. - Experience integrating and operating vector DBs (Pinecone, Weaviate, Milvus) for similarity search. - Strong data layer skills with PostgreSQL (schema design, migrations) and object store experience (Azure Blob Storage / S3). - Security and infra ops: secrets management (HashiCorp Vault / Azure Key Vault), RBAC, encryption at rest/in transit, and basic PKI/HMAC signing for tamper evidence. - Familiar with production telemetry/logging (Prometheus/Grafana, ELK/Datadog). - Clear communicator and collaborator — able to translate product/legal requirements into technical specs and run engineering sprints. ## Nice-to-have (accelerators) - Direct experience with CWR 3.1 and DDEX ERN/MEAD formats or working with PRO/MLC submission systems. - Background or network in the music industry (labels, publishers, rights admin). - Experience with Azure ecosystem (Azure AD, Blob, AKS) and enterprise integration patterns. - Experience with E-signature integration (DocuSign/HelloSign) and multi-tenant SaaS design. - Prior founder / equity experience; comfortable with ambiguity and wearing many hats. ## Role terms & what we offer - Role: Technical Co-Founder (full-time), equity + deferred salary; salary begins on seed close/salary once funded. - Equity: Open to structured negotiation — typical early cofounder ranges for this stage: 20–40% depending on contribution, prior IP, and cash needs (final split to be agreed). - Location: Remote-friendly with preference for New York, NY or significant overlap with Eastern US timezone (founder is US-based). Co-location is optional but available if desired. - Commitment: Full-time. You'll be driving architecture and delivery from MVP through product-market fit. - Support: Founder brings 20+ years music rights + rights admin expertise, investor and legal support, and initial product requirements—your technical leadership will convert that into a scalable product and team.
