## About the role We're building graph-native retrieval infrastructure for AI agents. The APIs currently powering agents still rely on legacy vector search - they're slow, hallucinate links, burn through tokens, and fall apart on complex queries. We've built a fundamentally different search using knowledge graph retrieval instead of vector search. In December 2025 we proved the concept works. Our system can do deep research across 100,000+ documents in seconds, with full reasoning paths and rich metadata - at a cost of ~$0.05 per query. We're now raising to bring this to market and build out the team. You'd be one of the first engineers shaping the core system. You'll work with our CTO Alex, who designed the retrieval architecture, and with me (Xenia) on the product and customer side. ## What you'd work on - Building and scaling the knowledge graph infrastructure and ingestion pipeline - Designing and shipping the API that customers are already requesting after demos - Optimising graph algorithms for speed and precision at scale - Experimenting - a lot ! This is new territory and the architecture is still evolving ## What we're looking for - Strong Python experience - Experience with or deep interest in knowledge graphs and graph databases - API design and development - Comfort with ambiguity Someone who challenges ideas rather than just executes them Bonus: if you're an exited technical founder looking for the next hard problem, we should definitely talk. ## Honest context on compensation We've been bootstrapping and don't pay ourselves salaries yet. We're starting conversations now because we don't want to lose a single day after closing. Once we close our round, this becomes a salaried role with equity. We do not expect you to work for free or for the idea. We're looking for people who are genuinely excited about the problem and want to be part of building this from the ground up - with the understanding that proper compensation follows the raise. ## How we work - Remote-first, distributed across Europe - Small team, direct communication, no layers - We experiment fast and aren't precious about being wrong - CET/EET timezone overlap preferred Most importantly: yes, we work hard, but it should also be fun to do. No 9/9/6 or hustling culture expected. We are most productive when we had enough sleep, see our families and enjoy something else outside of the startup.
