QA Engineer (Manual + Semi-Automation)

## About the role We are looking for a QA Engineer who can handle manual testing and semi-automated testing for mobile applications (iOS & Android) and React-based web applications. This role is ideal for someone who understands real-world product workflows, enjoys breaking things, and can collaborate closely with developers to improve quality — not just report bugs. ## Key Responsibilities - Manual Testing - Perform end-to-end manual testing of mobile apps and web applications. - Validate functional, UI/UX, regression, and smoke test cases. - Test across multiple devices, screen sizes, browsers, and OS versions. - Verify API responses and backend flows using tools like Postman or similar. - Reproduce, document, and track bugs with clear steps and expected behavior. - Semi-Automated Testing - Create and maintain basic automation scripts for repetitive test flows. - Assist in automating critical user journeys (login, onboarding, payments, uploads). - Work with engineers to integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines where applicable. - Maintain test suites and update them as features evolve. - Collaboration & Quality Ownership - Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers during sprint cycles. - Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and release readiness checks. - Validate fixes and ensure issues are resolved without regressions. - Contribute to improving QA processes, test coverage, and documentation. ## Required Skills & Experience - Minimum 2+ years of experience in QA/testing roles. - Strong hands-on experience with manual testing for: - Mobile apps (iOS & Android) - React or similar SPA web applications - Experience with semi-automation tools such as: - Playwright / Cypress / Selenium / Appium (basic to intermediate level) - Understanding of: - REST APIs - Client-server architecture - Web & mobile application lifecycles - Ability to write clear test cases, bug reports, and test documentation. - Familiarity with bug tracking tools (Jira, Linear, ClickUp, etc.). ## Good to Have (Not Mandatory) - Experience testing production-scale consumer or B2B apps. - Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution. - Experience with performance, load, or security testing basics. - Startup experience or comfort working in fast-changing environments. ## What We Value - Strong attention to detail and user-centric thinking. - Ownership mindset — you care about quality and the user experience. - Collaborative spirit and ability to work in a fast-paced, remote-first environment. - Passion for building reliable, user-centric software at startup speed. ## About the company Skyclad Ventures is a venture studio building and scaling technology-first products across AI, fintech, health-tech, maritime, and consumer platforms.
