## About the role In the Google Procurement Organization (GPO), our aim is to unlock value for Google to reinvest in what matters most. As a centralized organization operating in a high complexity environment, we bring solutions to stakeholders and suppliers to ensure the best outcomes. Within the Google Procurement Organization, the Category Management team partners closely with key stakeholders to help shape and implement procurement strategies. The Category Team is responsible for developing and driving holistic category strategies, managing stakeholder relationships, and bringing excellence to Google-wide sourcing, supplier, and contract management. In this role, you will be responsible for guiding innovative category and sourcing strategies, cultivating strategic supplier relationships, and optimizing spend categories through data-driven insights to unlock value for Google. Note: By applying to this position you will have an opportunity to share your preferred working location from the following: Chicago, IL, USA; Sunnyvale, CA, USA. ## Responsibilities - Develop and execute category strategies aligned with organizational objectives for assigned indirect spend categories. - Forge and cultivate strategic partnerships with key internal stakeholders to collaboratively advance both Google and GPO objectives. - Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality service delivery and alignment with organizational objectives. - Execute sourcing strategies, Request For (X) (RFx) processes, negotiations, and supplier evaluations within designated categories. - Analyze spending patterns, market trends, and procurement data to identify value opportunities, generate reports, and provide insights that support decision making and performance evaluation. ## Minimum qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field. - 10 years of experience in multi-disciplined procurement, leading strategy development, execution and sourcing or a related function. - Experience with sourcing, RFx processes, negotiations, and supplier evaluations within Product Services or related categories. - Experience with contracts, negotiations and related cross-functional teams. ## Preferred qualifications - Advanced degree or certifications in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related fields. - Experience in developing and managing key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure category performance and track progress towards strategic goals. - Experience in analyzing procurement data, generating reports, and providing insights to support decision making and performance evaluation within the category. - Experience in leveraging technology and analytical tools to enhance category management practices and drive data-driven decision making. - Experience enhancing category management through continuous improvements in procurement. - Ability to lead strategic projects aimed at improving procurement processes, implementing new strategies, or driving innovation, using excellent project management skills. ## What we offer The US base salary range for this full-time position is $158,000-$235,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
