## About the role We're looking for a Python Backend Developer to build secure, scalable APIs and services using FastAPI, Flask, or Django. You'll work with product, frontend, and DevOps to ship reliable features, manage databases, and keep performance tight in production. ## Responsibilities - Design, build, and maintain RESTful (and optional GraphQL) APIs with FastAPI/Flask/Django. - Model data and write efficient queries using PostgreSQL/MySQL (ORMs: SQLAlchemy / Django ORM). - Implement auth (OAuth2/JWT), RBAC, input validation (Pydantic/DRF serializers), and security best practices. - Write clean, testable code with pytest/unittest, plus unit/integration tests and API contracts. - Own migrations (Alembic/Django migrations), indexing, and query optimization. - Add caching (Redis) and background jobs (Celery/RQ) for performance and reliability. - Collaborate on API contracts with frontend/mobile; document with OpenAPI/Swagger. - Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/GitLab CI/Jenkins) for build, test, and deploy. - Deploy/operate services on AWS/GCP/Azure using Docker (Kubernetes a plus); monitor with Sentry/Prometheus/Grafana/ELK. - Troubleshoot production issues; track performance with APM and logs. ## Requirements - 1–3 years of hands-on backend development in Python. - Strong in FastAPI/Flask/Django and Python 3.10+ features (typing/asyncio). - Solid database skills: PostgreSQL and/or MySQL (schema design, joins, transactions, indexing). - Experience with ORMs (SQLAlchemy/Django ORM), migrations (Alembic/Django), and query optimization. - Knowledge of API design, error handling, pagination, rate limiting, and OpenAPI docs. - Familiarity with Docker, basic cloud deployment (AWS/GCP/Azure), and CI/CD. - Version control with Git; good debugging and performance tuning skills. - Bachelor's in CS/Engineering or equivalent practical experience. - Clear communication in English. ## Nice to Have - Django REST Framework (DRF) or FastAPI + Pydantic deep dive experience. - Celery/RQ, Redis, WebSockets, GraphQL (Ariadne/Strawberry). - Kubernetes/Terraform, serverless (AWS Lambda/Cloud Functions). - Security: OWASP Top 10, secrets management, compliance awareness. - Observability: Sentry, Prometheus/Grafana, ELK, Datadog.
