## About Us
Every large organization runs on software that almost nobody fully understands. Adronite exists to change that.
Today's AI coding tools work well on small, self-contained tasks - but they break down when faced with the kind of codebases that large organizations actually run: millions of lines, dozens of languages, decades of legacy, and deep interdependencies that no single person can hold in their head. We're solving that problem. Our platform builds deep, structured understanding of entire codebases so that AI can reason about them accurately - enabling teams to write code, explore systems, and find vulnerabilities with a level of context that didn't previously exist.
We're not another cloud-based copilot. We deploy on-premise, in air-gapped environments, and inside organizations where code never leaves the network. We work with large global enterprises and teams in highly regulated industries who need AI that works on their terms - with full data residency and compliance.
Founded in 2023 and based in Seattle, we recently closed our $5M Series A and are entering our first wave of major commercial deployments. The problem we're solving has been covered by the Wall Street Journal and GeekWire, and we're still early. We're a 15-person team - this is the stage where what you build defines the product and the company.
## The Role
We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer to work across the full depth of our platform, from the AI engines that parse and reason about massive codebases to the product surfaces that put those insights in developers' hands. You'll design systems, make meaningful architectural decisions, and ship features that enterprises depend on.
We're looking for someone with deep experience and strong technical instincts who is also eager to learn and take on unfamiliar challenges. You'll work directly with the founding team and customers, and your contributions will have a significant impact on the direction of the product.
## What You'll Do
- Architect, build, and ship full-stack features across our AI-powered platform, from context ingestion pipelines to developer-facing tools and APIs.
- Design systems that scale to multi-million-line codebases while maintaining the accuracy and performance our enterprise customers require.
- Work closely with the founding team and customers to translate complex requirements into well-designed, maintainable solutions.
- Take ownership of projects end-to-end: scoping, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and iteration.
- Solve difficult problems across the stack, including in areas where established approaches don't yet exist.
- Help shape engineering culture, best practices, and technical direction as the team grows.
## What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a track record of delivering impactful products.
- Strong proficiency in at least one major programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, TypeScript) and a willingness to quickly pick up others.
- Very strong system design skills, with the ability to build things that scale.
- Familiarity with design patterns and when to apply (or ignore) them.
- The ability to write clean, maintainable code that balances speed and scalability.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a product-oriented mindset; approaches challenges methodically and with precision.
- Curiosity and adaptability - a drive to deeply understand the systems you work with and to take on new frameworks, languages, and challenges as needed.
- A strong sense of ownership, follow-through, and collaboration - someone who takes responsibility for their work and makes choices in the best interest of the team.
## Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with Docker/Kubernetes
- This isn't a designer role, but an eye for good UI design is a plus
If you're looking for a role where your work has real impact and the problems are worth solving, we'd love to hear from you.
