Contract AI Engineer (Remote, Gig-Based)

At Connectnext Technologies, we're building a next-generation customer experience platform, and we're looking for a contract AI Engineer to help power core product capabilities with intelligent automation. This is a fully remote, contract-based role with high ownership and real product impact. You'll work closely with the founder to design, build, and deploy production-ready AI systems. The initial contract is 1 month, with the option to extend based on delivery quality and mutual fit. ## Why Work With Us - 100% remote - Short-term, clearly scoped contract work - High ownership and real product impact - Direct collaboration with the founder - Opportunity for repeat engagements as the product evolves ## Who Should Apply - AI / ML engineers with 3+ years of hands-on experience - Engineers who enjoy remote, short-term contract work - Builders comfortable working in early-stage startup environments - Professionals who like owning work end to end—from research to production ## What You'll Do - Analyze customer experience use cases that benefit from AI-powered automation - Prototype and validate solutions through rapid proof-of-concept iterations - Build and deliver end-to-end AI systems, including: - Data collection, cleaning, and pipelines - Fine-tuning LLMs or training classical ML models - Designing evaluation and validation frameworks - Creating interfaces for retraining, tuning, and monitoring - Collaborate with software engineers to integrate models and deploy to the cloud ## Required Skills & Experience - 2+ years of experience in Machine Learning, AI, or Data Science - Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, or NLP-based systems - Python and ML frameworks such as LangChain, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn - APIs and backend integration using FastAPI or Flask - Data tools like SQL, Pandas, and SQL/NoSQL databases - Cloud deployment using Docker (Kubernetes a plus) - Ability to document work clearly and deliver within agreed timelines
