Senior Software Engineer Backend

## About the role The lumber industry that underpins the entire North American construction economy relies on a mix of ancient software solutions and Excel spreadsheets. This is where Tamarack comes in. Tamarack's goal is to future-proof the essential businesses that make up the $370B lumber industry (including sawmills, logging companies, trucking companies, lumber wholesalers, foresters, and landowners). We are starting with a comprehensive and delightful-to-use system of record for sawmills. We are funded by Gradient and 8VC, among other investors, and are rapidly scaling our engineering team. Right now, we are looking for founding engineers to execute an ambitious, long-term vision. ## Key Responsibilities - Design, implement, and test new infrastructure and user-facing features. - Contribute to a healthy engineering culture and drive best practices. - Perform constructive code reviews and collaborate in larger architecture and design discussions. ## Security Responsibilities - Responsible for the development and deployment of secure code in accordance with Tamarack's standards, policies and procedures. - Maintain the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the information systems and processes for which you are responsible in compliance with Tamarack's policies on information security and privacy. - Execution of customer data retention and deletion processes in accordance with company policy and customer requirements. ## What Makes You a Good Fit - Excited to be a founding engineer. - 4+ years experience working as a software engineer. - Experience with AWS, Postgres, ElasticSearch, and monitoring + alerting frameworks. - Good technical communication skills to create and evaluate project plans. - Enthusiasm for CI/CD best practices. - Excited for onsite interactions with customers. ## Benefits - Company-subsidized medical, dental, & vision insurance plans for you and your dependents. - Flexible PTO. - Flexible working schedule. ## About the company Tamarack is committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, sex, age, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital status, disability, or veteran status.
