## Responsibilities
- Develop and train large-scale AI models that represent, predict, and simulate cell behavior from heterogeneous biological datasets.
- Work closely with Avlant Nilsson's group at Karolinska Institutet and SciLifeLab, as well as the Human Protein Atlas data team.
- Analyze complex biological datasets, including live-cell fluorescence microscopy, electron microscopy, and molecular measurements.
- Translate biological questions into modeling choices and ensure models are grounded in biological context.
- Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team with both computational and experimental environments.
- Maintain modular, well-documented, and reproducible code.
- Communicate scientific findings effectively in an international environment.
- Engage in pedagogical activities and contribute to a diverse and inclusive research environment.
## Requirements
- PhD or equivalent degree in a relevant field, completed by the time of appointment.
- Proficiency in English for communication in an international environment.
- Strong understanding of biological systems and interest in cell biology and biological modeling.
- Experience in interpreting biological data, preferably microscopy and multimodal datasets combining imaging and molecular measurements.
- Background in computational biology, bioinformatics, or machine learning for biological problems.
- Experience with modern deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, JAX, or equivalent).
- Good software engineering practices, including modular, well-documented, and reproducible code.
- Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams and communicate effectively between computational and experimental environments.
- Scientific curiosity, self-motivation, and a drive to solve biologically meaningful modeling problems.
- Strong pedagogical skills.
- Awareness of diversity and equality issues, with a focus on gender equality.
## Nice to Have
- Up to three years of postdoctoral experience or equivalent.
